A resort near the Florida coast has become the first winter park on the U.S. Gulf Coast, the first in the Gulf of Mexico and the first to be built in a remote desert.
The $10 million resort is situated at the edge of a rocky gorge, surrounded by palm trees and surrounded by lush green scrub.
The resort will offer a wide array of activities, including hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing and boating.
The park, at a cost of $10 per night, is scheduled to open to guests on Jan. 12, 2019.
The facility is the latest in a series of projects in the Everglades.
Everglade Park in Florida, which opened in January, is the largest winter resort in the United States.
The Everglare Resort opened in 2016 in the area of Lake Mary in the Florida Panhandle.
The complex consists of more than 20 lakes, which are covered in lush greenery.
It includes two restaurants, a bar, a spa, a fitness center and more.
Evergreen Lake, a small lake on the northern edge of Everglad, is a popular destination for boaters, snowboarders, skiers and snowboard instructors.
The lake also hosts fishing, boating and horseback riding.
The water quality at Everglashade Lake is extremely good, according to the U of M’s Evergreen Watershed Management Program.
The lakes are rated for drinking water quality, the Lake Mary Watershed Monitoring Center reported.
