You may have a beautiful view of the sun setting over the city from the stands, but how do you enjoy a nice sunset park?
The San Antonio Spurs have made the decision to have their park at sunset a permanent fixture.
The Spurs’ park, called the Sunset Park, will be located in the parking lot next to their arena, and the lights will be turned off on the day of the game.
“It’s the first time in the Spurs history that the lights have been turned off during the regular season,” Spurs President and CEO Tom Radulovich told ABC News.
“It’s kind of a new experience.
You’re not getting your tickets to see the game, you’re not going to get your tickets in the afternoon.”
The Spurs will also be installing a solar system at the park, which is supposed to be a temporary solution to the lack of electricity for their fans.
The Spurs say they’ll use the power generated by the solar system to power the lights on their park and the arena, which will provide a steady source of power for fans throughout the night.
“The idea is to generate enough electricity for the stadium and the fans, but also for the lights to be on for the game,” Radulovich said.
“You don’t get that kind of system in the NBA, so you’re going to have a lot of fans in the park and lights going on at the same time.”
The San Antonio Public Library will be hosting a sunset viewing party on Saturday, Sept. 29.
There’s even a “time to enjoy the sunset” sign at the entrance to the park.
A small group of fans can be seen enjoying the sunset from a window in the library’s lobby.
